So I am scheduled for surgery after Labor Day (not RIGHT after Labor Day, I trust my doc but still a bit wary of the post-holiday blues) and I will need books to read while I recuperate. Please post your recommendations in the comments!
Thanks!

Fiction
Snow Crash - Neal Stephenson
The Maribou Stork Nightmares - Irvine Welsh
Time's Arrow - Martin Amis
The Assasin's Trilogy - Robin Hobb
Non-Fiction
A History of God - Karen Armstrong
The Book of Lost Books - Stuart Kelly
Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World - Jack Weatherford
I'll lend you Lamb.. it's just a fun book. Most of what I've been reading lately is non-fiction relating to school stuff - so if you have any interest in 3rd world and Muslim feminism, I gotcha covered... yeah. Didn't think so.
I can reccomend a bunch of trashy (and not too trashy) occult/vampire sci-fi fiction. Let me know if you want the names of the authors- and I can give you a general description of the series (I don't have the list with me). That's been my no-think summer reading lately. I can also recommend some historical fiuction as well from my previous no think reading binge.
I can give you other recommendations if you do want books that require some thought- fiction or non fiction. ALso, let me know if you have a particular genre that you like to read or are interested in reading more of.
Thanks for the recs, everyone! Heathen, I'll be emailing you!
